We were blessed yet again with wonderful weather and a fantastic group for our SIDS benefit run and walk. With over 160 walk ups on Saturday this Second year event went over 460 runners and walkers. The top time went to RYAN FENNELLY at 15:51 for the men and MEGAN GALLAGHER at 21:58 for the women.

The goals for the NBD 5K Run for Life are; to raise awareness to SDIS, to raise much needed money for continued research for SIDS and provide a safe fun venue for family, friends, runners and walkers to celebrate life and the memory of our grand daughter Natalee and their loved ones lost to SIDS. Thank you all for your generosity and your support as we were able to raise over $16,000.00 and counting. Proceeds and all donations will go to the American SIDS Institute. We hope to see you all again next year on April 24, 2010!!!!

I encourage everyone to PLEASE provide email feedback on what you liked and did not like so we can continue to improve this yearly event.

Thank you to Daniel J. Suarez, C/1Lt., AFJROTC and the rest of the ROTC from Williamstown High School for all of their help setting up, marshalling the course and lending a big hand to make things runs smoothly.

A special thank you to Jim Bonder the Director of Monroe Townships Parks and Recreations for working with us every step of the way to make this a great success and the guidance of the park and recreations committee members.

A final note of recognition; If you look on the back of your runners shirt you will see a list called Natalee’s Angels. This list recognizes babies lost to SIDS by families who raised donations and also attended our run this year. I’d like to thank each and everyone of the families for helping to make this event so very special. Yes, this is a run; but it is also a time to gather, remember and rejoice in the special little wonders that made this day so special.

God bless and until next year.
